The Colorado Trail

Went soul searching in the front range of Colorado yesterday. I had my parents drop me and my bike off in Pine Junction, CO so I could ride back to Denver via some of the best trails around.

I headed down to Buffalo Creek, which suffered a massive forest fire in 1996, and rode up Nice Kitty to the Colorado Trail. I picked up section 2 of the CT and headed north back toward Denver. I rode CT sections 2 and 1 over to Waterton Canyon where I found a massive dam and a bunch of big horn sheep.

A 15 mile ride along Denver’s South Platte bike path with a super stiff south wind brought me back to my parents house.

62 mile adventure that really pushed the limits of my cancer riddled lungs. I could really feel it on the climbs. I’m sore and tired today. Doesn’t help I took a spill and banged me and my bike up pretty good about 35 miles in.

An amazing day on the bike that should have not been possible considering my current medical condition. But I felt the thunder!

Cancer can kiss my tired ass!
